Opened by Frank Genna in 1964, Genna’s was first located at 614 University Avenue. The business, which remains family-owned and operated, moved to its current location at 105 W Main Street in February 1993. It remains a staple of downtown Madison, housed in a polychromatic brick flatiron building recognized by the Madison Landmarks Commission as the only known commercial building in the city constructed in the Gothic Revial Style.
Visit us and see for yourself what brings so many through our front door time and time again. Venture upstairs on a snowy night or lounge outside on our patio in the warmer months. Stop by for a happy hour cocktail after work or enjoy our Bloody Mary bar after a Saturday morning trip to the farmers’ market. We’re honored to be an integral part of Madison’s vibrant Capitol Square, and we hope you’ll come and join us.
